Darby Pop has had numerous up and coming writers and artists in the comic industry under our banner over the years. Every month we’ll be highlighting the work of the writers and artists that came through our doors on their way to making their comic dreams come true.

I gotta say, when I reached out to Jeff Langevin, the cover artist of the Indestructible special Stingray, I was not expecting to find out that he’s beenBCotG.jpg busy working on some of my favorite current franchises. I won’t spoil the reveals until we get to them, but let me just say that I am very jealous of the people who get to see his art on the products he mentions!

Since the release of Indestructible: Stingray, Jeff Langevin was contacted by French publisher Jai Lu for a series of covers for their release of George RR Martin’s mega popular Game of Thrones series of novels, A Song of Ice and Fire. Yes, THAT A Song of Ice and Fire. HIs covers are simple and elegant, but that doesn’t mean they’re not stunning!

In addition to that, Langevin was also contacted by Fifty-Nine Parks, a new initiative designed around art showcasing America’s National Parks. Jeff’s work can be seen on the Black Canyon of Gunnison Park print.

Jeff also has ties to a galaxy far, far away as the cover artist for Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron. Working on this title, Jeff had the unique task of bringing to life several new pilots in the Star Wars canon, and his work is the first visual reference for the characters, a task that Langevin says was “simultaneously exciting and daunting”.

Orphan Black creators John Fawcett and Graeme Mason reached out to Langevin to design the promotional poster for the fourth season of their hit season. Langevin’s final design ended up being featured in everything from streaming apps to even Times Square in New York City!

Last but not least, Langevin also worked with Mondo for the art on an exclusive printing for the soundtrack to the award-winning God of War video game released last year. A huge fan of the latest installment of the hit series of games, Langevin “really enjoyed creating the concept and artwork for the packaging of the album, and it was exciting to see game director Cory Barlog show it off on their launch livestream”.

Langevin has certainly added a lot of new items to his portfolio in recent years. The best thing about it though? You’ve probably seen a lot of his work and just didn’t know it!
