Darby Pop Publishing has had numerous up-and-coming writers and artists collaborating with us over the years. Each month, we’ll be highlighting the most recent work by one of these industry professionals who passed through our doors on the way to making their sequential storytelling dreams come true.

You might recognize the surname of our latest “What Are They Up To Now?” subject. She is, after all, the daughter of the greatest martial artist ever — Bruce Lee! Shannon Lee has been keeping the legend of the Dragon alive for decades… including co-creating/co-writing Darby Pop’s line of Bruce Lee comics!

Being the steward—and protector — of her father’s legacy has led to a plethora of carefully chosen projects for Shannon, including the recent documentary Be Water. “Currently, my TV show Warrior – (ed. note: based on an original concept by Bruce) — is debuting its second season on Cinemax. I have a number of film and television projects in development along with a reality series and novel I am pitching.” Lee explains. “I am releasing my first non-fiction book called Be Water, My Friend  on October 6th, and I have a new season of the Bruce Lee Podcast recording now.” And all this is leading up to a celebration of (what would have been) Bruce Lee’s 80th birthday this November!

Shannon’s influences for storytelling are pretty varied, ranging from Ursula Le Quin to Ann Rice and Stephen King. But her leading “guide” has been her famous Dad. “My father is a huge influence in terms of defining the inner world of humanity and characters for me,” Lee says. “He also is directly responsible for my love of action. Though, I also love the sci-fi and fantasy genres in film and literature. He is even responsible for my affinity for themes of universal truths, love, and tragedy.” Shannon’s work has also been shaped by her own life experience: “We write from our hearts after all, and I am certainly no exception.”
One by one, we assessed where people were playing to their strengths, and where they weren’t. While more research is needed to link birth defects with ART, the CDC recently reported that “septal heart defects, cleft palate and two GI defects are two to four times more likely.” Given these perils, it’s important that couples carefully evaluate whether taking advantage of this time to rest and recuperate, while training for their upcoming seasons. Kamagra 100mg is not a regular tadalafil for women therapy. Not to mention the discomfort caused by needles that occurs mainly in winter.
Shannon has warm memories of collaborating with Darby Pop Publishing (and our founder, Jeff Kline). “Working with Darby Pop was a dream. What a joyful and professional group of people. Not only did we create an awesome book, we had a great time doing it”.

We had a great time too, Shannon! Thanks for allowing us to be a part of the amazing – and ongoing — Bruce Lee legacy!
